Tree and Shrub Health Care Services
Insect and Disease Control
Each site and location determines the needs of the trees. There is not a spray that controls all the insects/diseases for the whole season. Every property we evaluate for a program (Plant Health Care Program), will be evaluated based on what we see and know is affecting your plants/trees. Each insect/disease has different controls and methods to keep populations down or completely out. Some insects have seasonal windows when they are vulnerable and need to be treated. Our recommendations comply with the recommendations given by CSU, Colorado Department of Agriculture, County Extension Service, and the Forest Service. If you are interested in having your property evaluated for a program, please give us a call. If you want to better understand our program, set a time we can meet with you to go over our recommendations
When pests & diseases are controlled, trees will be healthier and have a better chance of survival. Insects that cause harm to a tree’s health are usually found on or in leaves, twigs and bark. Signs include chewed or damaged leaves, leaves with tunnels or mines, and holes in the bark of the tree. Due to different life cycles, it’s important to be treat each type of insect at the correct time of year.
Sometimes, an infestation of certain insects or diseases can be difficult to identify, yet may require immediate attention. If you have a tree that does not look well, or if you notice unusual insects, you may wish to have an arborist give an assessment of the tree’s health.
